About Skinny Bones
"The best journeys are not always in straight lines."
Check back often for updates, discounts and special calander events.
The idea behind Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze was the dream and inspiration of a little boy, a little boy with big dreams and creative visions. This boy planted his own pumpkins year after year, priding himself with the largest pumpkin. The boy grew up to be a man, all 6'5 of him. Jeff Bledsoe, married to myself, Maria, have five children. Each use our God given talents, and play an important role in our family operated business.
The name Skinny Bones was selected after searching for a fun and quirky name. This was one of our children's childhood nicknames, sorry ,we're not allowed to say who's, after resembling their tall & lean stature. It was an unanimous vote and has stuck since. Skinny Bones is a happy skeleton and will cheer anyone up because his happiness is contagious. Who knows, you may even see Skinny Bones walking around the farm! Jeff, being the mastermind of the business, is the true kid at heart. Running his own auto repair shop during the day, allows him to use his mechanical skills and his artistic side at night. My husband is a genius and is evident when viewing his mastermind creations. One of his most note able is Skinny Bones Express. This is an old fashioned replica of a stage coach that is four wheel drive. No horses needed...just horse power. This is available for private bookings and is a sure crowd pleaser.
I, Maria, work on the business end. Being a busy mother of five, I'm always on the go. I book all of thgroup outings and parties and will custom order one for your individual needs. Courtney, our oldest is currently attending the University of Omaha, where she is pursuing a marketing and business degree. She is very detailed and organized and loves to bring us new ideas. Miranda is chasing after her love of God, and will be going on a missions trip this fall. She is very artistic and helps paint and prepare the buildings and signs. Haley, has a true love for animals and quickly took over the petting zoo. We have continued our tradition of using their childhood nicknames & found it appropriate to name this Haley Boo's petting zoo. Emily, helps Mom or Dad where needed. Having strong leadership skills, you'll more than likely see her in the ticket booth or concessions area. Last, but not least is our youngest and only son, Jared. J J's corn maze is named after him and he knows the maze better than anyone. He takes his job very seriously and sorry, no bribes accepted!
Running Skinny Bones is a true adventure that we are learning along the way. Family, friends, and neighbors have helped us, and we would be lost without them. We are loving every minute of it and our goal is to create lasting memories for you and your family. Best wishes for years to come,
–The Bledsoe family
